Community-owned lodge at the foot of Mount Sabyinyo, with cottages, fireplaces and the park boundary on its doorstep.
Near the Kinigi park HQ
Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge sits at the foot of Mount Sabyinyo, right on the edge of Volcanoes National Park. The lodge is owned by a local community trust, the Sabyinyo Community Livelihood Association, and managed by an experienced safari hospitality company, so every stay directly supports nearby villages.
Accommodation is in cottages and suites with fireplaces and private verandas. It is one of the closest lodges to the park, making early starts easy.

Location
The park headquarters are at Kinigi, about 15 km from Musanze and roughly 110 km — around two and a half hours by road — from Kigali International Airport. The road is paved all the way. Trekkers must be at Kinigi for the 7:00 am briefing, so most people stay near the park the night before. From Rubavu on Lake Kivu, the drive is about an hour and a half.
