About Rwanda Gorilla Trekking

Rwanda Gorilla Trips, Planned from Kigali

We are a small Rwanda-based team that plans private gorilla trekking tours and safaris. Our focus is simple: help you meet the mountain gorillas of Volcanoes National Park with the right permit, the right lodge and the right pace for you.

Most of our travellers have limited time and one big goal. So we start with the gorilla permit — confirming availability for your date — and then build everything else around it: the drive from Kigali, a lodge close to the Kinigi headquarters, and, if you have time, golden monkeys, Lake Kivu, Nyungwe’s chimpanzees or a Big Five safari in Akagera.

How We Work

  1. Tell us your dates and priorities

Send a message or WhatsApp us with your dates, group size and budget.

  2. We check permits and suggest an itinerary

You receive a clear day-by-day plan with lodge options and a full quote.

  3. Secure your permit

Once you confirm, we book your gorilla permit in your name and reserve lodges.

  4. Travel with your private guide

Your driver-guide meets you in Kigali and stays with you throughout the trip.

Tourism That Gives Back

Rwanda’s tourism model links visitors directly to conservation. Gorilla permit fees fund ranger patrols and veterinary care, and under the country’s revenue-sharing programme a share of park tourism revenue is invested in schools, health centres and water projects in neighbouring communities.

We add to this by working with local guides, porters, community-run lodges and cultural projects wherever we can.

Why Travel with Us

  1. Rwanda specialists, based in Kigali

We plan Rwanda trips and Rwanda–Uganda combinations, so our advice on permits, lodges and timings is current and first-hand.

  2. Permits checked before you pay

We confirm gorilla permit availability for your date before asking you to pay for it, then build the itinerary around the permit.

  3. Private trips only

Your own vehicle and driver-guide, on your dates, at your pace — no shared minibuses and no fixed departures.

  4. Honest advice on trek difficulty

Your guide talks to the rangers at the briefing so the gorilla family you visit suits your fitness as closely as possible.

  5. Lodges chosen for location

We favour lodges close to the Kinigi park headquarters, so trek mornings start calmly rather than before dawn.

  6. Conservation and community

Every permit funds park protection and community projects around Volcanoes National Park, and we work with local guides and porters.
